Library 21 was outstanding, then and now, for getting much of it right. The planners created a model that featured regional cooperative resource sharing, information in many formats, and specialized facilities for learning resources. They foresaw the creation of worldwide communications networks that would allow rapid textual and graphic recall of information, and they predicted that library patrons would access materials remotely from home and office, as well as in the library.
